Low Volume Prototype Tooling

Transformed Plastix often manufacture low volume tooling without temperature control, this can be manufactured from Fiberglass, MDF or wood fabricated into a tool shape.

The disadvantage of this style of tooling it is only suitable for prototype or very low volume production, and should your product become popular quickly then additional costs may be involved moving to aluminium tooling and aluminium temperature controlled tools.

Repeated forming of a composite tool of this type can cause the tools to overheat and breakdown quite quickly so cooling the tool takes time during production.
